About Maldives Chess
Maldives Chess is the one-stop hub for everything chess in the Maldives. Founded to fill a gap in reliable, transparent information about ratings, tournaments, and the people building chess across the islands.
We track FIDE ratings and top players, maintain an up-to-date events calendar, and publish news, tournament reports, player profiles, analysis, and features that matter to players, parents, coaches, and fans. Editorially independent and committed to fairness and accuracy, we aim to grow chess in every corner of the Maldives.
Our mission
To document, promote, and grow chess in the Maldives by providing accurate ratings, timely event information, independent reporting, and a place where players — from beginners to champions — can be seen and heard.

Submit an article
Length: 500–1,500 words for features; 200–600 words for match reports.
Format: Word (.docx) or Google Doc link. Include a short author bio (max 40 words) and one headshot (optional).
Images: Attach high-resolution JPG/PNG; include captions and photographer credit.
Originality & rights: By submitting you confirm the work is original and you own the rights (or have permission). We may lightly edit for style/length and will credit the author.
Response time: We’ll try to reply within 7–14 days.

We aim for accuracy and fairness. Content is checked before publication; news items use named sources where possible. We do not publish unverified accusations. If you believe an article on this site is factually incorrect, email hello@maldiveschess.org and we will review it and publish a correction or update where appropriate.
